Paul  Phillips

Paul Phillips has served since 1996 as music director and conductor of the Meadows Symphony Orchestra (MSO) at SMU's Meadows School of the Arts. He also conducted the Meadows Opera Theatre in its main stage performances in the Bob Hope Theatre at SMU, as well as collaborative performances with the Meadows Division of Dance at the Winspear Opera House. In 2013, he was the first person appointed to the Martha Raley Peak Centennial Professorship in Conducting at Meadows School. Professor Phillips has conducted many world premiere perfomances during his tenure at SMU, and has recorded with the Grenadilla, Novisse, Centaur and Albany Records labels. He conducted the Dallas Symphony Orchestra on subscription concerts on multiple occasions and produced many of the Dallas Symphony's recordings and radio broadcasts.
